Physiotherapy of Children with Central Coordination Disorder in Infancy
KOTOUNOVÁ, Linda
This bachelor thesis focuses on physiotherapy of children with central coordination disorder in infancy. I described the psychomotor development of a child up to the age of one year, examination of psychomotor development and neurological examination of an infant in the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis. I also dealt with the central coordination disorder, its variants, manifestations and division. There is also a brief description of cerebral palsy, in which can result severe forms of central coordination disorder. Physiotherapeutic possibilities of the central coordination disorder and other possible therapy are next part of the thesis. The second part of the bachelor thesis is the practical part. It consists of qualitative research consisting of case reports of five infants with a central coordination disorder. Case reports include an intial examination, a description of individual visits, including therapies, and an final examination. The results were assessed on the basis of examination by a trained physiotherapist PhDr. Ludmila Brůhová. The course and outcome of the therapies were evaluated in the discussion. The use of individual methods, the success of therapies and the circumstances that influenced this were considered in the disussion, too. The solved problems, goals of the work and the results of the practical part were summarized in the conclusion. This thesis could be used as inspiration for working with children with central coordination disorder in infancy.
Primitive reflexology and its relation to the evolution of locomotion
Pejcharová, Martina ; Zounková, Irena (advisor) ; Smolíková, Libuše (referee)
In the theoretical part, the thesis "Primitive reflexology and its relation to the evolution of locomotion" summarizes the knowledge of movement management and postural control. The main part is focused on individual components which are tested according to developmental kinesiology as spontaneous motor activity, primitive reflexology, postural reactibility. End of the main part addresses the issue of exit examinations. The practical part is focused on find ing connections of the components according to the developmental kinesiology test as a screening method. In the second mentioned part of the study were found significantly important connections between the palmar grasp reflex and the Collis horizontal reaction. Other relationships which we verified weren ́t statistically proven. This concerns the relation of plantar grasp reflex and Collis horizontal reaction, Galant reflex and Landau reaction, suprapubic reflex and traction response and at the end the extension crossed reflex and traction response. Title: Developmental coordination disorder - literature review Objectives: The theoretical part talks about developmental coordination disorder, its diagnosis, investigations, etiology and division during the different ages of the child. The practical part compares the studies relating to atypical development of motor skills in children with developmental coordination disorder. In diploma thesis was often used shortcut CKP and DCD, depending on the source from which it was drawn. DCD is the English equivalent of the shortcut CKP. Methods: This diploma thesis has both descriptively - analytical character. It will be treated as a literature review. Results: On the basis of the researched literary sources, this thesis provides a comprehensive picture on the topic of developmental coordination disorder. This thesis evaluated the atypical motor skills in school and preschool age children with developmental coordination disorder from the perspective of different authors. It has been found, which diagnostic procedures are used and which difficulties are most limiting for the children. Keywords: developmental coordination disorder, fine motor skills, hand function, gross motor skills

Author: Taťána Reichmannová Institution: Department of rehabilitation medicine Title: Kinesiotherapy in infants with central coordination disorder Supervisor: Mgr. Jana Hvězdová Pages: 82 Inserts: 21 Year of presentation: 2013 Keywords: Vojta method, reflexology, infant, developmental kinesiology, central coordination disorder, locomotion, motor skills of the child The thesis deals with central coordination disorder in infancy and its treatment Vojta. The work is dividend into theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes the central coordination disturbance, psychomotor development in the first In the life of each trimester for a healthy child, diagnosis, marginally devoted to reflexology and positional tests. I pay attention Vojta method - the principle tripping zones, crawling reflex, reflex station. I mention neurological examination infants. I highlight the effect of the predilection of the head, colic in infants and hypertonicky to affect postural further development. The practical part deals with monitoring the development of two infants with central coordination disorder and applications Vojta method for these children.
Influence of rehabilitive hippotherapy on children with psychomotor retardation (till the age of five years)
BROMOVÁ, Martina
This bachelor thesis applies hippotherapy as therapeutic method in adjustment of delayed psychomotor (PM) development of children till the age of 5 years. A child should manage given level of motor mental and social skills corresponding to time period of its development. If the development of the child does not correspond to ideal PM development in quantity and quality we speak about central coordination disorder. This disorder manifests itself at new born baby in various grades depending on level of disability. Easier untreated forms of central coordination disorder manifests itself by postural fault, scoliosis posture and scoliosis. The most serious forms of central coordination disorder are developed into child cerebral palsy that manifest itself by various disability of physical and mental functions. Retardation of psychomotor development happens mostly to premature children, numerous pregnancy children and artificial insemination children. Hippotherapy is one of physiotherapeutic methods that are used in framework of complex rehabilitation to optimalise psychomotor development. It is proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation that is based on complex horse natural characteristic impact on human. Theoretical part consists of two units. In the first part the terms hipporehabilitation and hippotherapy are explained. Then there is a description of hippotherapy influence principle. This chapter includes specific and non-specific effects of hippotherapy, influence of hippotherapy on deep stabilization system and on human psyche. Next chapter is dedicated to hippotherapy practice. There is a mention of hippotherapeutic team, lenght of therapeutic unit, factors influencing effect of therapy and positions of the patients on the horse. The last chapter is about biomechanism of the horse motion. In the second part of the theoretical part there is lokomotion development of the child till one year and psychomotor development disorders. Practical part consists of qualitative research, which was performed by processing three complex case report by using observation method (kinesiology analysis of motorical skills), secundary data analysis and interview with parents. Research sample consisted of three children with delayed PM development till the age of five years who took part in at least ten therapeutic units in Citizens assotiation for hipporehabilitation KRAPET in Dynín. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to sum up the newest knowledge about hippotherapy and to realise the effects of hippotherapy rehabilitation on children with delayed PM development till the age of five years. The mission of this work is to improve knowledge about given problems among amateur and professional public. The output of this bachelor thesis can be used as an educational material for physiotherapy students and for next research.
Physiotherapy for children threatened by the developing CP in the 1 year of life
ŠPIKOVÁ, Alžběta
In my bachelor thesis I have dealt with the problematic therapy of children with cerebral palsy. The aim has been defined as a presentation of therapeutic methods used at children endangered by cerebral palsy in the first year of life and the determination of the time aspect of the therapy. In the theoretical part I have dealt with the topic of psychomotor development of a child and the facts related to coming down with cerebral palsy, that includes its definition, causes of development, types and diagnosis. Since the most widely used method in the Czech Republic for children with cerebral palsy is Vojta´s reflex locomotion, the aim of the research part was to present this method in more detail and to find out experience with its use. The respondents were represented by 28 parents of children afflicted by cerebral palsy, who are treated in special diagnostic Center. This part of the work is methodologically based on the principles of qualitative research. Inquiry method has been used, employing semi-structured interview. The answers to questions demonstrate that an early diagnosis of the disease and an immediate institution of treatment is the main necessary condition for reaching optimal outcomes of the treatment. According to the research, the efficiency of the treatment also depends on its frequency, the expert guidance of professional physiotherapists for parents, their comprehension and conviction that the therapy will be successful. The investigation further showed that parents of children with cerebral palsy tried other therapeutic methods than Vojta´s reflex locomotion, but for lack of cooperation of the child, negligible results of other therapies or poor availability of their parents completed the application. The research findings also showed that improvement, which in practice Vojta´s reflex locomotion in their children diagnosed with cerebral palsy occurs, the main reason for this therapeutic method remain and will continue to apply.
